About Us

Gilpin Funeral Chapel has been family-owned and operated for almost sixty years. We have a strong tradition of providing care and compassion when families need it most.

Ronald Gilpin

Ron is a native of Lambton County and brings thirty-nine years of knowledge and experience as Funeral Director of Gilpin Funeral Chapel. After graduating from the Canadian School of Embalming, and earning his Funeral Director’s license at the University of Toronto, Ron succeeded his father Douglas as Funeral Director of Gilpin Funeral Chapel.

An active member of the Rotary Club of Grand Bend, and a member of the business community, Ron’s personable and attentive manner has been a comfort to many.

Robert Gilpin

Rob followed in his father's footsteps and joined Gilpin Funeral Chapel in 2002 after earning his diploma in Funeral Service Education at Humber College. There he received the OFFA Past President's Award for Outstanding Achievement. He completed his internship in Sarnia and brought his knowledge and skills as a funeral director to the family business. Rob is not only committed to helping families during their time of sorrow; he is also responsible for helping the community as a paramedic. He is a full-time employee with Lambton E.M.S. In his little spare time Rob enjoys being a member and former captain of the Thedford Senior AA Hockey Team and playing in the Lambton Recreational Hockey League. During the summer he spends time golfing with friends and traveling with his wife Jen.

Jen Gilpin

Jen has been a part of the Gilpin Funeral Chapel administration staff since 2003. She and Rob were married in 2006 and hope to keep Gilpin Funeral Chapel a family business for years to come. She is an elementary school teacher in Lambton County and completes most of the computer operations for the funeral chapels. In her spare time Jen enjoys curling and amateur photography.

Mary Lou Glenn

Mary Lou Glenn joined the Gilpin Funeral Chapel administration staff 2003. She currently owns and operates her business, Mary Lou's Interior Designs in a building adjacent to the Gilpin Chapel in Thedford. Here she creates fresh and silk floral arrangements for all occasions. Her warm smile often greets families and visitors when they arrive at the Gilpin Chapel. Mary Lou enjoys traveling with her husband Garry and getting onto the greens whenever she can.
