Peacefully at the North Lambton Lodge on February 23, 2010, Thelma Irene Edwards (Wight), formerly of R.R. 2 Thedford and Highview Residences, London, in her 82nd year. Predeceased by husband Gerald (2002) to whom she was a devoted wife for almost 55 years. Dear mother of Linda Koolen (late Harry 1998) of Arkona, Allan Edwards (Susan) of London, Lois Hardy (David) of Brampton, Joy Starkey (Glen) of Forest. Loving grandmother of Peter (Gillian), Jeremy (Anna) and Adrian Koolen, Laura and Heather Edwards, Andrew, Meagan and Bryan Hardy. Great grandmother of Keira and Edward Koolen. Predeceased by her parents Roland (1979) and Verna (1965) Wight, twin sister Velma (1935), sister Doris Millar (2003), and brother Frank (2008).
Thelma was a lifelong member of the United Church of Canada, leading in Sunday School and at the piano, and enjoying her many years of service and fellowship in the Arkona UCW. Gerald and Thelma were partners in operating the family farm and selling cedar posts and poles and Pioneer seed corn.
Family and friends may call at the Gilpin Funeral Chapel in Forest on Friday, February 26 from 4-7 p.m. where a memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 27 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Arkona Cemetery.
