John Albert Shaw
June 27th, 1928 - February 27th, 2010

Unexpectedly on Saturday February 27th 2010, two days after his 60th Wedding Anniversary with his cherished wife Joan. John Albert Shaw of Sunnidale (Forest) in his 82 year. Beloved husband of Joan (Morton) and loving father of Cathy MacLeod (Martyn), Terry Lawlor (Bill) and Patty Thompson (Chris). Cherished grandfather of Kelly Baines, Kiersten Baines (Bob), Sam MacLeod (Kristin), Quinn Thompson and Victoria Thompson and great grandchildren Brenden and Lauren Baines. Dear brother of Elda Ewart (Streetsville) Proud member of Masonic Mt. Olivet Lodge #300, Thorndale and the Telephone Pioneers. John was known for his great love of golf (we still celebrate his first “Ace” on the 10th on Deer Creek 16 years ago). His love of music was evident in that his piano and organ playing has been part of every family gathering since we can remember. Funeral service will be held on Friday March 5th 2010 at Gilpin Funeral Chapel, Forest at 1:00 p.m. Visitation one hour prior to service.Interment Beechwood Cemetery.
